LEAGUE OF LEGENDS – CHAMPIONS
There have always been those within Noxus who did not agree with the evils perpetrated by the Noxian High Command. The High Command had just put down a coup attempt from the self-proclaimed Crown Prince Raschallion, and a crackdown on any form of dissent against the new government was underway. These political and social outcasts, known as the Gray Order, sought to leave their neighbors in peace as they pursued dark arcane knowledge.
The leaders of this outcast society were a married ...
"Go ahead, run. I'll give you a five minute head start."
One of the reasons Piltover is known as the City of Progress is because it has an extraordinarily low crime rate. This hasn't always been the case; brigands and thieves of all sorts used to find the city-state an ideal mark for plunder, primarily due to the valuable resources it imports to fuel its techmaturgical research. Some even theorize that it would have fallen long ago to the chaos of organized crime if not for ...
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS – SKINS
Cottontail Teemo is a skin that revels in its cuteness; which is something that not everybody will be able to stomach.
The model is quite effective: the bunny suit looks fluffy enough while the sack of Easter eggs and carrot hanging from Teemo’s neck support the theme.
Moreover, Teemo’s blushing and his Noxious Traps are Easter eggs of various colours.
The hops when walking are a great finish for a very consistent skin.
Therefore, if a fluffy bunny hopping ...
A full set of armour gives the idea of a battlemage and Warden Karma conveys that idea.
The raptor motif, evident in her Mantle of Decorum, gives the armour some personality as, for the most part, it’s somewhat simple.
The plates look sturdy and practical and the decoration reasonable and attractive.
However, it’s only in the upper part where the armour manages to be interesting.
Elsewhere it feels derivative and without anything special; except for a pair of ...
Jade Dragon Wukong seems like a fusion between the Volcanic and General skins.
It has some fire effects like Volcanic and it has a little of the enlightened theme of General.
This combination works better than could be expected: the flames are smaller but add a nice extra visual layer.
Furthermore, the clothes with their jade decoration show Wukong as a more elegant and even spiritual being.
Strangely, the staff’s design appears as if it challenged this ...
Dressed in winter clothes Snow Day Gnar makes the Missing Link lose part of his primal adorability but retains his cuteness.
The blue fur can strike as strange initially but most of the elements that make Gnar appealing remain.
The difference is that it changes from a wild style to something more civilized.
The fact that he wields a small ice axe only serves to reinforce the civility.
Mega Gnar seems simpler in comparison keeping the same bestial aspect but with a ...
Samsung White Twitch is definitely a niche skin.
Not only is it targeted at tournament followers but it also specifically pays tribute to a player from SSW: Imp.
As such, the appeal of the skin is quite restricted and many won’t understand or care for the reference. If, instead, we take the skin as a modern rat the result is acceptable even if unimpressive.
The clothes follow Twitch’s style, the crossbow looks modern and there’s some contemporary gear but we ...
The idea behind Dragonblade Riven is clearly that of a warrior with an eastern style.
The armour is believable enough as it seems well adapted to an agile fighter without sacrificing protection.
Also, the blade has an attractive design that balances ornamentation with practicality.
Add to that her animated hair and sword tassel and Riven’s appearance has a lot to offer.
However, most of these additions are difficult to notice at a distance: most are rather ...
Mr. Mundoverse has a suitable concept for this muscular doctor but with an execution that doesn’t fully realize it. There’s just a few clothes added but while they are fitting they clash with the multiple remnants of Classic Dr. Mundo. A pair of snickers and maybe dumbbells would have helped further the concept. Regardless, as it is, it suggests its concept instead of implementing it so it feels quite ...
Koi Nami is an interesting take on the League’s mermaid as it turns her into an ornamental carp lady.
While it can feel like a simple re-colour at first glance, there’s more than meets the eye; like the fact that she’s almost naked.
Still, cleverly positioned adornments protect her modesty and serve to further the red and white design.
On the whole, the skin hardly looks revealing, instead the pattern seems rather decorative; quite fitting for a koi.
Championship Thresh doesn’t innovate in terms of concept.
Actually, it’s mostly the same Warden but in blue.
The armour and weapons do receive new designs and the overall aesthetic is different; maybe more modern.
Yet, at large, there aren’t any significant differences sans the new colour scheme.
That isn’t necessarily a bad thing as it provides a distinct and appealing identity to the skin.
Additionally, besides the recall there isn’t much of a ...
Jurassic Kog’Maw is a definite visual departure from Classic Kog’Maw.
Nonetheless, most of what makes Kog’Maw appealing, including his cuteness, remains.
This bone structure isn’t a faithful representation of how Kog’Maw’s actual skeleton would look: there are front and tail horns, more leg articulations and questionable tongue bones.
Nevertheless, the skeleton structure is believable and functional; as cartilage wouldn’t survive from the Jurassic ...
