  • Syndra was released on 13 September 2012 and can be purchased from the Riot Store for 6300 IP or 975 RP.
  • Syndra is the first official champion to directly manipulate minions and neutral monsters to deal damage to other champions, moving them around with her abilities.
  • Syndra's spheres appear as red instead of blue when on the opposing team. She is the fourth champion to have team perspective based particles, with the third being Draven, the second being Cassiopeia and the first being Singed.
  • Using Syndra's Force of Will to hit an enemy unit with the Lizard Elder will apply the debuff on them. Also, if Syndra throws the Ancient Golem, she will be refunded 10 mana and the ability's cooldown will be lowered by 1 second.
  • Syndra is the second of four dark themed Ionian Champions. The first being Varus, the third Zed and the fourth being Jhin.
  • Syndra's dance is based on the choreography for the song Hoot by Girls' Generation (소녀시대: So Nyeo Shi Dae), a popular Korean girl group. A side-by-side comparison video can be seen here.
  • Syndra was the third champion to have a difficulty rating of 100, the first being Cassiopeia, the second being Orianna, and the fourth being Draven. However, her difficulty rating has since fallen to 80. On release, her difficulty rating was 90.

Justicar's becomes brighter and more detailed with holy sigil in its center. Atlantean's has a darker shade of blue. Force of Will gains a larger shockwave and more detailed effect. Classic's and Queen of Diamond's gain bright red shockwave with darker aura which linger a little bit longer and thrown object leaves bright red trail behind. Justicar's gains orange 'explosion' effect and thrown object leaves bright orange-gold trail with many sigils along the line behind. Atlantean's gains much more detailed water blast with darker shade of blue upon impact, along with whirlpool-like visual effect. Scatter the Weak gains more subtle detail. Classic's and Queen of Diamond's gain red shockwave with electrical jolts. Justicar's seems to be brighter with more sigils. Atlantean's seems to be darker shade of blue. When attaining the max rank of Unleashed Power, the three orbs floating around Syndra will have a slight change of appearance and will leave a trail.

Syndra Counter Tips

  • Syndra is vulnerable after she uses her Scatter the Weak. Try to play aggressive while it's down.
  • Avoid fighting her when your health is low as she specializes in single target damage with her ultimate.
  • Avoid clumping against a Syndra as she carries a potential long range AOE stun.
  • A well timed Zhonya's, Yasuo's Windwall or Braum's Unbreakable can stop most of her ultimate's damage.

SYNDRA STORY

Born with immense magical potential, Syndra loves nothing more than exercising the incredible power at her command. With each passing day, her mastery of magical force grows more potent and devastating. Refusing any notion of balance or restraint, Syndra wants only to retain control of her power, even if it means annihilating the authorities that seek to stop her.

Throughout her youth in Ionia, Syndra’s reckless use of magic terrified the elders of her village. They took her to a remote temple, leaving her in the care of an old mage. To Syndra’s delight, the mage explained that the temple was a school – a place where she could develop her talents under his guidance. Though she learned much during her time there, Syndra no longer felt her power growing as it had in her youth. Her frustration grew, and she finally confronted her mentor, demanding an explanation. He revealed that he had dampened Syndra’s magic, hoping to help her learn control and restraint. Accusing him of betrayal, she advanced on the mage, commanding him to lift the spell that was holding her back. He backed away, telling her that if she couldn’t control herself, he would be forced to nullify Syndra’s magic completely. Furious, she summoned her power and dashed the old man against the walls. With her mentor dead, Syndra felt the rush of her unbounded potential for the first time in years. Though she had won her freedom, she refused to return to the society that had tried to steal her gift. Instead, Syndra decided to claim her former prison as a stronghold. Pushing the boundaries of her magic, she tore the structure from its foundations and raised it into the sky. Free to delve further into her art, Syndra now aims to grow powerful enough to destroy the weak, foolish leaders of Ionia – and anyone else who would dare to shackle her greatness.

Syndra knocks enemies and Dark Spheres back dealing magic damage. Enemies hit by Dark Spheres become stunned.

Unleashed Power

Syndra bombards an enemy Champion with all of her Dark Spheres.
